I came to Australia with hopes and dreams…
… hopes of living a happier life…
… dreams of living a successful life…
6 years have passed… and those dreams are still dreams… those hopes are still hopes.
When I look back at those 6 years… I realize that I made 3 BIG MISTAKES that stopped me from living the life I had dreamed and hoped of. Now… I live in regret.
I don’t know you… but I don’t want you to make the same mistakes… so, let’s talk about those…
Mistake 1: I focused only on work and study.
Work. Work. Work. Study. Party with friends once in a while.
That was my life for the first 5 years in Australia.
Now… if I could go back in time, here’s what I would do instead…
Work. Study. And study for PTE and NAATI.
Seriously!! The competition has gotten fierce… the points you need for PR is sooooo high… if you don’t prepare for PTE and NAATI while still studying… you will be left far behind… just like I was.
That’s my 1st takeaway for you.
Focus on PTE and NAATI!! Get those 25 points early!!!
Mistake 2: Listening to Everyone
You know… in Australia… everyone has something to recommend… a better college, a better agent, a better consultancy, a better job, a better place to live… they “recommend” everything better for you. But the sad part is, most of them are USELESS!!
What I mean is, listen to others… but after you do that… DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH!! Find out if what they are saying is relevant for you!!! Don’t dive blindly right into what others say.
Everyone thinks they know better… but the truth is… they don’t. Even I don’t. All I am doing here is sharing my experience… in the hope that you will not repeat my mistakes.
Before I go to my 3rd mistake… let’s talk about my current situation. I have passed my PTE and NAATI exams. And I am still waiting for my PR.
The thing is… it was during the time I was studying for PTE and NAATI that I understood how common the 3rd mistake was.
Mistake 3: Focusing on transactional relationships
When I say transactional… I mean… “I’ll Pay and You Give Service” type of relationship that we have with our institutes and consultancies.
Here’s what I mean.
Me and my friends… we did our PTE and NAATI from different places. All of us got 79 each in PTE and passed our NAATI exam in the first attempt. And all of us are waiting for our PR (Yes… a result of our past mistakes.)
But when I compare my experience with theirs in terms of PTE & NAATI classes… I find a world of difference.
After my friends passed the PTE & NAATI exams… they didn’t hear anything from the institutes they studied in… their relationship… ended. Their relationship had become… transactional.
Now, you may think… who cares about that? Why focus on forming relationships with PTE and NAATI institutes???
Let me explain…
Where I took my PTE and NAATI classes (Creative Educations)… I had a completely different experience.
During my time there, I met people who really cared.
If I missed a class my trainer would message me and ask why I missed the class. When I talked about the mistakes I mentioned, he taught me to learn from those mistakes. When I lost hope in my first NAATI class, he pushed me extra hard.

If I had joined one of the institutes my friends had joined… I would have– no doubt– passed my NAATI and PTE exam. BUT I would not have found someone I could trust.
So, that’s my 3rd takeaway for you today… look beyond transactions… look for long-term relationships.
Because in the end… we only do business with people we like, know and trust.
Final Thoughts
From my experience, if you are looking for a guide whom you can trust, I urge you to give Creative Educations a try. I’m certain you will experience what I experienced there.
But a word of caution… be open… discuss what you need help with… don’t be shy and don’t keep your problems to yourself. If you don’t share your relevant problems… no one will be able to help you.
Listen… I’m not telling you that you must go to Creative Educations. What I am saying is… if I had not been to Creative Educations… there is no way I would have found someone I can trust.
It’s my experience… and I am certain, you will have a similar experience. An experience of a lifetime.
